This development could be improving drainage, putting in footpaths or road-ways, creating or re-creating habitats such as ponds, increasing nesting opportunities with nest and roost-boxes for birds and bats and introducing sensitive seating to keep people still.
The photos shown here are from one school site in Swansea.
The timber used is from timber felled on the site.
The pond has a pond-dipping platform and any boggy areas have a raised oak board-walk. Hundreds of local tree saplings have been planted and the path surface is from wood chipped on-site.
All sites are managed and developed with consultation and sensitivity at all stages.
