There has always been a demand for round timber to be sawn into boards. I was buying in sawn timber to complete projects in woodlands at the same time that I was selling round timber to sawmills. There was little logic there so The Gower Charcoal and Wood Company bought a small, mobile mill called the Lumbermate from Canada.

It can handle timber up to 2 feet in diameter and 16 feet long. Timber can be cut through and through or it can be re-sawn into dimension stock such as 4 x 1, 6 x 1 etc.

One advantage of owning your own mill is that you can mill to order and don't have to carry large stock.
There is a great demand for Green Welsh Oak at the moment for use in stiles, bridges, board-walks etc.

Timber can air-dried and then kiln-dried in our kiln which is equiped with heaters, fans and dehumidifiers.
